Targeted communications
best sellers have a plan. The customer always feels as if the pace of the relationship, and know where things are at any given time. Some of the best salesmen I always a pleasure to work to ensure that every piece of communication has been the target for him.
phone call to confirm next meeting or follow the information on the previous face-to-face meeting. E-mail can also confirm the meeting, or to add information, but the finer details as soon as the call. For some reason, I know that the seller is not going to waste my time. Imagine two voice mail messages that the customer information in one morning. Message number one:“Hello, Bob. John Acme here. I’m sorry to call for hours, but on my way last week and the time of the phone is hard to find.
I wanted to catch up, when one minute, so … give me a call tomorrow if you have a minute, OK? I’m at 212-555-0909. bye! “Message number two:
” Hey, Bob. This is Tom Johnson, Baxter and equipment. as promised Last week, I get the price of certain components of the control R-17 to you, and I have that information late today. Call I’ve always tomorrow, and I can go over the details with you. I will email you information even before you head tonight. get me a straight line 211-555 -7754. Thank you, Bob. “
If I were one of those phone calls to return, Tom has my attention. It is short, explains why he called me, and also offers an e-mail to confirm his message. John would have to call back if time permits, but I really do not know why he called and I can easily decide to wait for him to call me back instead.
Let us not forget that some of the vendors as the personality is not always all business. If you are a baseball fanatic for his local team, to throw the game comment to voice mail or e-mail does not derail your supposed to play until that goal is still clear and the message is short. When Tom added to the above message, he was still contaminated with the possibility of first base? (No jokes, the second floor, I’m not sure Tom does not.)“Hey, Bob. This is Tom Johnson, Baxter and tools. Did you catch the Phillies today? It was a good game was not sure they were able to pull it in the ninth, but they did it ! Anyway, when we talked about last week, I promised to check the price of certain components of the R-17 you …”
Tom
his client loves baseball knows commentary seems pretty fast, and it relates to the client, but the message does not get stuck in replay game. (In writing home to Kansas City Royals, I rarely Sales people live a lot in recent games, so please note these are purely hypothetical examples are based on old memories of the team to win a record.)
